Just figured if they let the BIG announcement out of the bag they could also mention other changes. I guess we will see.

No NXDN or dPMR?

D-Star and C4FM would also be nice, but maybe there would be more difficuties with royalties.

I logged into myuniden clicked "Register A Product" then selected BCD436HP but the serial number box will only let me enter 12 digits but the scanner has 14 after then SN??

There is also no box to enter the checksum so how do I register it?

I too have this issue.

UPMan I can't register either my 436 or 536 as the register screen is only taking 12 digits, I even tried creating a new account.

Looking at the html the serial box has a maxlenth of 12:-

<input name="serial" id="serial" type="text" maxlength="12" tabindex="2" />

How do I register them to buy the upgrades???

SFD119, do you have poor reception on VHF and UHF on you 436?

I do not have a 436, just a 536. This thread is about DMR upgrades, questions like that should be asked elsewhere.

Serial numbers are 12 digits and look like 375Z38001234

I have a 14 digit serial number. I can take a photo of it or provide you the number if you'd like.

From the upgrade instruction page:

Power on your scanner.
Press MENU.
Scroll to SETTINGS, then press E.
Scroll to SEE SCANNER INFORMATION, then press E.
Scroll to FIRMWARE VERSION, then press E.
Write down the digits following SN in the 3rd line, then the 3-character checksum from the 4th line.

My ESN is:-

SN37626048009XX9

The 2 Xs are numbers

That is SN plus 14 digits, I cannot fit 14 digits into 12!!

UPMan,

Quick question.

Will the Australian units released through agreement with Pacific Telecommunications for the Country Fire Authority in Victoria, Australia be able to receive the firmware upgrades?

Many thanks in advance.

Can you allow product registration with the ESN then? It would be a pain to take the scanner out of my console to look at the hard coded one.
