Hi Jason,
Please check your PM.
I'm in the same boat. My 536HP is on it's way back to Uniden for a repair. I'd hate to miss the window of opportunity for the pre release pricing.
Probably other way around. Look at a wonderful job they did on the siren app and missing features promisedMy Question is im guessing uniden is using the actual SDK from Motorola which they are paying for, is whistler using a reverse engineered type of decoding? how can they offer it for free
I would think the Whistler announcement SHOULD have an effect on eventual pricing.Just guessing here but those of you with scanners on the way to Uniden have nothing to worry about the window closing. The repair process is pretty quick and I don't see the window closing anytime soon until it's ready for release and we know how Uniden operates, LOL. Also the fact that whistler is offering a free upgrade may effect if the price will increase.
I think if it wasn't for Hamfest 2016 or Whistlers early rumors, we wouldn't have heard anything from Uniden until they were ready for release.
Decisions, decisions, decisions,,
And for those of you who missed it, 2 new Whistlers coming with the word free in the description.
The Whistler TRX-1 (handheld) and TRX-2 (desktop/Mobile) are multi-system adaptive digital trunking scanners with Motorola P25 Phase I, X2-TDMA, Phase II and DMR making them capable of monitoring the following unencrypted channels/systems.
Conventional DMR (Entered as a DMR trunked system)
Hytera XPT
MotoTRBO™ Capacity Plus
MotoTRBO™ Connect Plus
MotoTRBO™ Linked Cap Plus systems
Additionally, Whistler is announcing that development of NXDN monitoring is also underway and the TRX-1 and TRX-2 will include NXDN as a FREE upgrade when available.
Did you all catch the last line? Free?

Sticky thread in the correct forum for this topic.
Don't think that the 436/536 being out for repair should be a problem as long as the scanner is already registered at myuniden. I went to the all my scanners page and the link to purchase the upgrade was there. Since the 436 was already registered I did not need to re-enter the serial number.
Please tell me the DMR talkgroups will not need to be entered, but will automatically be shown in the display when received on DMR?
Pretty useless if not, as there are thousands and thousands of talkgroups to try to guess, but only 16 "color codes" and 2 slots.
I imagine since it's a digital system, there is likely a function within the software to automatically determine the talkgroup as programmed into the system.
Makes perfect sense, a la CS750... Tge 750 seems to work fine. For what I've heard of course.I imagine since it's a digital system, there is likely a function within the software to automatically determine the talkgroup as programmed into the system.
The TG number, but not who is using that TG.
