Disparencies between groups in same system?

I want to listen to the local fire departments, which are using a commercial shared DMR III system. I can listen several commercial groups just fine, but whenever the fire ones are talking, the conversation breaks up and I end up only hearing 25-75% of the conversation. Any idea what could be causing this issue? This is running SDRtrunk with Noelec SDRs.

What does the waterfall look like when the fire dept keys up? If the waterfall appears to be overwhelmed, then it's possible you have the same issue that I do. Everything around here uses P25, but the analog fire repeater is still active and is simulcast along with the P25 talk group. Whenever the repeater gets keyed up, it overloads the SDR's and causes them to dropout.
