...and Hollywood Park and Shavano Park (and Terrell Hills) arent happy with the proposed service fee increase for dispatch services proposed by recommendation of TERRY BRECHTEL to the Alamo Heights City Council. Brehtel, former City of San Antonio City Manager, is now an employee of the '09er city and is doing a top-to-bottom assesment of their city. She proposed that CoAH charge the cities that they dispatch for at an amount based on their cities population multiplied by a rate that is accepted in other parts of the state. The amounts are easily 50-75% more of what these cities have been paying. Olmos Park & Terrell Hills have been receiving these services for YEARS for chump change.
Fact of the matter is that if these cities were to TRY to create their own 24 hour dispatch, it would cost each city 20x what they are paying now and 25-30% less than what Alamo Heights proposes to charge.
