What is the difference in Dispatch channel vs. Ops? I listen to Orange County, NC Fire and EMS Dispatch + OPS 1-4. If they are different is there a list of what the OPS frequencies are?

In my area Dispatch are communications between field units and Dispatch. We call incoming units on Dispatch as well. Operations (Ops) are usually on scene comms. Our Ops are point to point (not part of a repeater system). It is pretty much local to the incident scene.

Orange County fire an EMS are all dispatched all on one channel then the OPS channels are assigned at dispatch for communication during the incident.

Ops is when thy are at a call .There could be several ops channels . If there is a car crash dispatch would move that to ops 2 and then you could hear what is going on at that crash . Then it is not blocking dispatch up .
