This isn't my set up (obviously)... A while ago my FD switched from low band to UHF Standard. Bad news was my pager was worthless. Good news was we got a new tower for the dispatch center. The old tower was about a third as tall and it looked a lot like a telephone pole with some antennas on top. I don't think the town knew what it was in for when they approved the funding for this tower. I think it misses the requirement for a flashing beacon by 5 feet and it can be seen from towns away.

My goodness. I don't think I've ever seen a tower with that may antennas on it before. I'm sure others members have. Thats insane!

There's at least 5 cell sites on the tower, and it looks like most of the PS stuff is on the lower platform.

From here, it doen't look like much of an improvement to the city radio systems....just a money maker from cell carrier rent.
