TRX-2: Display glitch after saving configuration

I was editing an object (channel) to let it record audio. After confirming the changes it prompted to press SEL to save configuration. After pressing SEL the display glitched.

It seems like it was an one time glitch. Should I be worried? The scanner is fairly new (and expensive).

Has anyone else seen this before?

It happened again, but I doesn't always happen.

While browsing objects, editting them and saving the changes, it should return to the object browser. Sometimes it returns to the main menu, that's when the glitch occur.

How old is the scanner? Was it bought new and from who?

Obviously it is something that bothers you, or you wouldn't have mentioned it, if it is a problem for you contact Whistler to get it checked out, especially if it is under warranty.

I can reproduce it this way:

Menu (button press)
Select: Browse Objects
Choose a channel in the object browser
Menu (press button)
Select Record (checkbox) (this maybe also works with other changes)

Now if you press the menu button it will prompt to press SEL to save changes, after saving it will return to the main menu and it glitches. If I press menu again, it reloads the main menu screen and after this the display looks normal again.

Alternatively when you press the left arrow, it will also prompt to press SEL to save changes, after saving it will return to the object browser without glitching.

Less than 3 months old. It's imported by a dealer in my country that doesn't have a repair department. Afaik no one in the Netherlands can repair these things.

To me it looks more like a bug (see my previous post). I'm just wondering if someone can reproduce this as well. FYI: I'm using the E firmware.

Edit: my experience with Whistler representatives on this forum is they always blame the user when bugs are mentioned and they never take responsibility.. That's why I'm wondering if someone else seen this before and maybe can reproduce it like I did.

Hello, Remon. Thank you for the steps to reproduce. I have two TRX-2 receivers. I tried your steps on one of my receivers with these specifications: CPU Boot 1.1, CPU App U4.9, DSP App 3.2, DSP Voc 1.6, DSP Build 105, Library 730, Location DB 12. In following your steps, I chose a VHF FM analog object. When I followed your steps, I did NOT experience the corrupted display that you showed above.

Not to make light of your issue but is there a reason you don't use EZscan to listen/edit your recordings?

A problem like that could be caused by corrupted CPU firmware. I would try reloading the firmware. There is a standalone updater if you cannot accomplish that through EZ-Scan. TRX-2E International Downloads

I tried both reloading the firmware with EZ-Scan and with the standalone updater. Did the "restore factory defaults" in EZ-Scan, uploaded the configuration to the scanner, powered it on, tried to reproduce it again and it still glitches.
