TRX-1: Display shows "D2" on a Phase-I transmission...

Anybody else noticing the display showing "D2" on the top row when in fact it's receiving a Phase-I transmission?

I've had it show once in a while on a trunked Phase-I system and also on conventional Phase-I transmissions. According to the manual the display is supposed to only show "D2" when the radio is receiving a Phase-2 transmission.

Before anybody thinks I'm actually receiving Phase-2 let me cut you off at the pass and say that at the same time the display was reading "D2" my old GRE-500 was decoding the exact same transmission.

Bug perhaps?

Yes. It's a bug somewhere in there. I get that D2 for a 453.000 digital IDOT channel here near Chi-raq. They are not D2. Doesn't do it all the time. IT's been discussed before in here.
