I had some time to do some band searching over the weekend and found an improvement I would love to see in a future firmware release for the BCD436/536 and SDS100.

I was searching the 410-420 MHZ band for active systems in the area. I found that when the scanner stopped on a NX4800 system it displayed the SID, and the site number. However when it hit a TRBO/DMR site all that is displayed is the CC. If I use the analyze function I can get the SID and site number. If its was a P25 system no information is displayed untill the control channel is entered as a system etc..

What I would like to see is the scanner display the SID and site on all three types of systems without needing to create a system and enter in the frequencies so that analyze can be used to get the SID and site info. Having the scanner display the same basic info whenever a control channel is found would be a great help.

Did you rename any of the custom search name fields?

You need to change the name of the search back to its default. You can change the start and stop frequency. Then search will work for you.

Thanks I did that and sure enough it works as desired. I should have known that as it has been mentioned before.

I dont know why the rename stops the display but its not a big issue.

The firmware code somehow referes to that default name of the search bank and it might be difficult to fix if the code is a mess with nesting within nesting to retrive the user edited name and trying to fix it will open up a can of worms that could involve other functions.

Ubbe: Thats what I figured. The features are called if the search range = Custom X otherwise the scanner acts in a 'analog' mode with just the data detect function active..
