My display seems to be getting lighter I adjusted the contrast but did not do anything Any suggestions to fix this?

Might help if you actually mention which model of radio you're talking about....
Contrast is just one possible setting. Many radios have a backlight brightness setting too. May also be referred to in the menu as "Set Dimmer".
When you say, "I adjusted the contrast but did not do anything"......
Are you saying that it really did not do anything.... as in change the contrast? Or... are you saying that the contrast can be adjusted but the brightness level remains a problem?

The display is fadeing, I have the 996xt I have adjusted the contrast not the problem works fine, no help set the background not the problem works fine, The display is very cloudy and the numbers and letters seem to be fadeing out.
