dmr dispatch muffled

For months i have not been able to receive a clear call from dispatch on my local dmr police agencies. Car to car and car to dispatch is very clear. I have this problem with all three scanners, trx1, trx2, and sds100. Tried several antennas which has no effect. Did anyone else have this issue?. If so any advice is greatly appreciated!

Muffled as in the audio or encrypted? Can you understand the dispatcher if you really listen?

It is not encypted. I can hear maybe two words legibly out of a sentence. I can hear 10-4 acknowledgement from dispatch.

Are the c to c and c to d on the same system, using different talkgroups or are they on different frequencies? If they are just different TGs, since you have the issue on multiple scanners, with multiple antennas, and two other talkgroups on the system come in clear, perhaps the reception issue isn't on your side.

That said, have you taken the scanners mobile around the city and checked reception in different areas? Perhaps you will share the agency/RR database link with us so we can look at the system for possible issues.

Sounds like it's on their end. one of the dispatchers where I live has either a bad headset mic or a serious speech impediment...He's extremely difficult to understand until you listen for a few days.

Do you see the same signal strength with dispatch calls as with car-to-car? Then it's an audio issue at dispatch. It must be the same problem for the patrols but they probably receive the info some other route, a text message, and the dispatcher just repeats it so the patrols don't really care if it's bad audio or only needs to hear the 10-4 when they report in.
