Check for a conventional frequency VHF/UHF that would be used to page on, here in Ohio counties simulcast pages to trunk systems, but the DMR sounds better than the P25 with tones.

I'm wondering if they are really using/relying on the tone alerts over the DMR frequency for paging or that's simulcast of the pager alerting on another frequency. There does seem to be various different ways to simulcast the dispatch - for example, in my county, the tone and voice is sent on VHF but you hear only the voice part on the Motorola trunk system. Another county recently went live on our state P25 Phase 2 system and when the page, you hear both the tones and voice over the 700 trunk frequency/channel/slot. However, in the latter, I very much doubt they are tome alerting over the P25/Phase 2 (but it's new so I could be wrong).
