Sandusky and Erie are usually silent in my location. The signal and antenna placement seems to be southwest cuyahoga or medina county.

I was picking up comsource site 4 from wayne MI yesterday afternoon rather well and the DMR signal did not change. It usually get stronger during the evening hours.

None of my scanners can pick this up, but DSD+ on the same antennas hear's it fine. The TRX-1 & BCD436 really suck, the G4/5 look better every day wish they did DMR/NXDN

My trx-2 and DSD+ are able to pick up the signal with proper antenna placement. On the trx-2 I was not scanning I used FN-0 and entered the frequency directly.

Took my TRX-1 on it's first Road Trip today

I drove over to North Royalton Schools and verified that the signal is coming from their radio tower. The tower is a skinny lattice tower that's about 75ft tall. It sits next to a building and the biggest (as in big around, about 8 - 10ft across) cell pole tower that I've ever seen. The cell phone tower is about 90ft tall, with just one ring of antennas.

I did a poor man's signal test. Removed the antenna from my scanner, turned ON the attenuation. Checked the signal strength at the base of the tower, 5 bars. Then walked south past the Football Stadium and watched the signal bars drop. Then I walked north to Rt82 and went east. Same results, the signal dropped.

So there's no doubt in my mind. The signal is coming from the North Royalton Schools DMR system.

As to the exact reason for it, I'm hoping we'll find out shortly.

Awesome information thanks. I just had to do a google street view to see the tower's and that cell pole tower is rather large.
