I am using the DMR firmware from the very beginning and still have one issue compared to original Motorola radio. The problem is, that the dispatch in my city has extremely low audio when compared to mobile units and even lower when compared to handheld units (the audio volume is probably 30% : 70% : 100% from dispatch : mobile : handheld radios). I think the main reason is bad discipline of the dispatch operator OR some audio codec setting in Motorola radios of the agency, HOWEVER my original Motorola DP-1400 is able to reproduce all dispatch/mobile/handheld with approximately SAME audio level. There is obviously some audio level correction performed in Motorola radios, whis is not implemented in uniden firmware (yes, I do have the Digital AGC enabled).
To confirm this, I programmed my TYT MD-380 DMR radio with my local agency and the audio level was as bad as on Uniden scanner. This only confims, that only original Motorola radios can handle different audio levels properly.
Is there any chance to adress this issue in future firmware (don't know what are the possibilities of the digital codec which is used by Uniden)
Thanks for the info.
