I am using the DMR firmware from the very beginning and still have one issue compared to original Motorola radio. The problem is, that the dispatch in my city has extremely low audio when compared to mobile units and even lower when compared to handheld units (the audio volume is probably 30% : 70% : 100% from dispatch : mobile : handheld radios). I think the main reason is bad discipline of the dispatch operator OR some audio codec setting in Motorola radios of the agency, HOWEVER my original Motorola DP-1400 is able to reproduce all dispatch/mobile/handheld with approximately SAME audio level. There is obviously some audio level correction performed in Motorola radios, whis is not implemented in uniden firmware (yes, I do have the Digital AGC enabled).
To confirm this, I programmed my TYT MD-380 DMR radio with my local agency and the audio level was as bad as on Uniden scanner. This only confims, that only original Motorola radios can handle different audio levels properly.
Is there any chance to adress this issue in future firmware (don't know what are the possibilities of the digital codec which is used by Uniden)
Thanks for the info.

DSD+ has interestingly displayed 'TG=3145832' (untrimmed header) which is 'TG=104' (trimmed header)

From DSDPlus event log:
2016/09/20 18:08:09 DCC=10 Group call; TG=104 RID=25 Slot=1 1s
2016/09/20 18:08:14 DCC=10 Group call; TG=3145832 RID=26 Slot=1
2016/09/20 18:08:14 DCC=10 Group call; TG=104 RID=26 Slot=1 5s
2016/09/20 18:08:20 DCC=10 Group call; TG=104 RID=25 Slot=1 2s
2016/09/20 18:08:25 DCC=10 Group call; TG=104 RID=26 Slot=1 1s

does anyone know when sentinel will have the complete update from radio reference they seem to be way behind on the information that radio reference has listed.

It's not limited to DMR. It's an issue that has been reported by many users since x36 series first came out.

Do a custom search in the frequency range that the hospital operates on. If you have the DMR upgrade added it should automatically receive the transmission and decode the information. I added the upgrade this afternoon and that's how I was able to pick up my local hospital. I still have a long ways to go before I'm confident enough to start programming the information in my radio.

Rumcajs..This won't help you, but I will say that a few days ago I just turned off my 536 while listening to Starcom 21, NW Central Dispatch, in Northern Illinois. My wife and I were working on our computers and the changing volume levels finally drove us crazy. Even the same dispatcher's volume would go up/down each transmission. I set the AGC to ON with all my systems but no help. I don't know what to do for it either.

Went for DMR upgrade

Well, decided to bite the bullet and add the DMR upgrade to my 436. Not that I needed it since I have 3 UHF and 2 VHF MotoTrbo portables but, I don't want to carry more than one radio. Registered my scanner, selected the DMR upgrade option, and went from there. Followed the upgrade directions on the Uniden website, to the letter, by updating the database, firmware, etc., in my scanner via the Sentinel software. Paid my money for the upgrade, got my key, followed the directions, again, to the letter, for upgrading the scanner.

Well. guess what I got when I went into the scanner menu to do the upgrade? The ProVoice option! Seriously?!?! I just paid $60 for a ProVoice upgrade?!!? I HAVE NO NEED FOR THE PROVOICE OPTION!! No hint of anything that even smells like DMR. I've had some doubt about this scanner ever since I purchased it February this year. I only bought it to have P25 phase II as I already have a PSR 500 that has always worked beautifully. I'm no idiot when it comes to radio software as I've been programming radios with Motorola, Kenwood, and Icom commercial software. Hell, even programming radios onto a TRS is easier than programming this thing. The 436 has been nothing but a PITA to program, it is so bad to program I practically don't use it. It truly is the WORST scanner I've ever owned and had to program. I wasn't that fond of this radio before but now, I thoroughly LOATHE it!

Come on Uniden, how do I get a ProVoice upgrade when I clearly paid for the DMR upgrade??? IF, big IF, this problem is fixed I'm very sure I'll put it up for sale. I've had a gut full of this POS.

Version 1. 10. 02 is displayed when I check it. I performed a firmware update, via the Sentinel software, before I purchased the DMR upgrade.

Wow. You really should read directions before you fire off a post like that. Just saying.[emoji16]

I just verified that no one purchased a PV upgrade on 10/9 (we have had cases where people bought the wrong key). There were several DMR key purchases. The key you got is almost certainly a DMR key.

UPDATE: I just figured out which one was you (the only purchase from Georgia) and confirmed that there was a DMR key (not PV) generated for your registered scanner.

As others have mentioned, save yourself a lot of frustration and mis-directed anger by reading the instructions first. You don't have the proper firmware that applies to the DMR upgrade. You should be using version 1.11.17 that is available with the current version of Sentinel (1.07.03).

Check here and read everything very carefully, especially under the heading of "Applying The Upgrade":

Yeah, you guys are probably right. I have little patience when things don't go right the first time, it's my nature as I'm a perfectionist. It's rare that I voice my anger, frustration, etc., like I did. I ranted and vented my frustration in a forum where I assumed there were like minded folks with empathy/sympathy. To those that offered assistance I appreciate it, to the rest... well... anyway, just wanted to vent my frustration. I'm sure everyone here is human and have vented their anger/frustration. If you say you haven't then I throw out the B.S. flag.

I bought this scanner in hopes of keeping my scanning interest alive. A couple of times a year I travel to an area with P25 phase II, that's the only reason I bought it. The only system for me to listen to is a TRS 30 miles from me. I only listen to it when in the area for work. The remaining areas, I use to listen to, have all gone to Nexedge and encrypted. The other system is a full time encrypted P25 phase II TRS so out of luck there. There was a time that all I ever listened to, in my truck, was the scanner and my ham radio. Not so anymore, just the opposite. So, this may be the death knell for my scanning hobby, once this radio is updated it's going to a new home.
