This sounds like the poor signal reception is your biggest issue now.

Please check that the Service Type assigned to this configuration is one that has also been enabled via Menu > Select Service Type.

Already verified the service type is enabled.

Just for kicks, I completely redid the system from scratch, using the things I learned here. I kept tdma slots on "Any" and also left color codes on "Search." Finally I only added in the local site rather than all listed, [as the radio is mobile I tend to add in all sites of a given system so I can hear it wherever] Selected ID search, and so far its picked up 3 conversations, one of them on an "Unknown" talk group. Nothing was garbled which was really nice. I guess there's still a few kinks to work out when using the RR site for DMR reference as their information is not 100% with DMR yet. Still its nice to have learned a new side of digital :)

I highly recommend programming in the most liberal method possible: "Any" time slot, Talkgroup Search "On", Color Code Search, etc.

Unless there is a compelling reason to narrow the scanning parameters, having very conservative settings 1) takes more programming time and 2) can prevent you from receiving wanted calls.

Keep in mind that the RR database info is generally not from official sources. It is submitted by volunteers who have to hand transcribe the information from their locked-down scanners; then, the information is handled by volunteer database administrators. Additionally, assuming the information is correct, it is not necessarily current and unless it is < 7 days old, there's no way to known how long it has been there. There's a lot in that process that could go wrong, so I recommend keeping your reception filters wide-open until there is a good reason to narrow down your scan list.

This is some great advice and should be in UPMan's Wiki page. This would resolve a lot of reception issues I suspect.

Question on DMR display

I just applied my DMR update on my 436 and have it held on a frequency manually-entered here at work that is a DMR frequency. According to the Uniden wiki I should see DMR, CON, CAP or DT3 on the display when there is traffic. I found out that the traffic is encrypted and I also see the user ID, time slot and talk group on the screen but I don't see the three-letter code letting me know the type of DMR system it is. Has it changed such that a one-frequency DMR system doesn't show "DMR"?

I got my 436HP back from RTC repair the other day........popped the working SD card back in, updated the firmware using Sentinel, reinstalled the DMR key, then unavoided the Connect Plus system in the scanner, which was set to avoid by the RTC firmware downgrade.

Now, I cannot get the DMR Connect Plus to do anything other than search, I do not get a lock or CON indicator any more...........am I missing something here? All control channels color codes and system information are still in the system, and it worked perfectly before, now NOTHING.

Did you re-enter the DMR key? The repair entails completely replacing the main logic board.

UPMan I'm having a really frustrating issue:

With the public release firmware. any DMR Trunked systems I entered won't appear during normal operation when scanning or scrolling through systems.

These were hand entered. Firmware is current (Public Release 1.11.15), absolutely no avoids enabled, all location based scanning is off, all service types are enabled (and the systems have a service type assigned), the applicable favorites list is enabled/on, and they are entered as the correct type of system. Everything should be correct.

And this problem only applies to MotoTRBO trunked systems I entered, and TRBO Trunked systems alone. They are definitely in the radio, as proven by going through the menus to edit/view favorites and finding them where they should be. It's only when scanning or scrolling through systems during Normal Operation that they don't appear.

This was not happening with 1.11.14, only when I updated to the CURRENT Public Release firmware (1.11.15).

Possible Memory card issues after updating to 1.11.16

Has anyone else checked the memory status of your 436 if you applied DMR Beta 1.11.16?

If I check on the radio it shows I have I have 86% Memory used Total size of 3.66 and Free space 0.49 Free size

When I check connected via a computer its the opposite 3.66 free and .49 used
When I go to record it tells me the memory is full. I checked the folder and its empty.
It looks as if its reversed and the radio has it backwards

My card show 0% used. I'd reformat and reload the SD card and see what happens.

Yes........is there any way that a working system would show in the menu, complete with color codes, exactly as it was on the beta f/w, scan sites, but not show a CON or RX ever? I must be missing something..........maybe I will try writing back to the radio from a previous Sentinel codeplug instead of just working with the reinserted card when it came back from repair?

Bears, Tytera makes both DMR and DpMR radios. The DMR upgrade will only work for DMR, DpMR uses different modulation I think it is [Whats the difference between digital modes again? lol] Either way, DMR and DpMR are different, therefor DpMR is not available on Uniden radios....yet....
