I am having horrible results with DMR as well. I have single site systems, cap+ and local ham DMR. Every way, shape and form I am trying is giving me very very little traffic. I have them programmed in multiple formats trying to determine what or where my problem is.

I done a side by side comparison with my Pro-106 which doesn't decode DMR but still gets the signal. My 106 is picking up the full signal while my 436 isn't giving any audio. I have double and triple checked all my settings. I have programmed things in various formats and only on a very few occasions I get a few bits of radio traffic.

I'm making assumptions so this may not apply. However, assuming you are not using and external antenna, you may want to look at this:

No it isn't. The public release latest version is 1.11.15, however 2 days after this one came out, another beta firmware version was released 1.11.16. I posted some results in this thread of my findings between both versions running a 436 and 536 concurrently on the same system. Depending on the type of system you're monitoring, you might be missing some transmissions...I'll let you both get caught up.

i stand corrected, sentinel also said i was running the latest, guess i missed that one,
hard to keep up, thank you

There is a difference between the public release and a beta. The latest public release is in fact 1.11.15. The latest beta is 1.11.16, but it's not available through Sentinel.
UPMan made it clear that .16 was a beta and runs the risk of actually making DMR decoding worse.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the regular use"... do you mean the overall performance of the unit on AM / FM / P25 after getting the DMR upgrade as opposed to before getting the DMR upgrade? If that is your question, then for me, the answer is "no, no difference noted".

If you don't need DMR, then don't bother with it. I haven't purchased the ProVoice upgrade, and I don't intend to since there is none here in Arkansas. NXDN, maybe later this year, I'm sure Uniden is working on it. I will certainly purchase an NXDN upgrade if / when it comes out.

Hey UPMan...

I have a number of organizations in my area which have multiple frequencies on the same "tower" or transmission point, and all frequencies have the same talkgroups on them, but they are showing DMR (as opposed to CAP, CON, or DT3) in the corner of the x36 display. The frequencies are not simulcasting the signals (i.e. tg 1 is not being broadcast off all 3 freqs simultaneously). Each frequency in the group might have different color codes or the same - in one case I have three UHF frequencies with color codes 8, 9, and 10, and in another case I have three VHF frequencies all with color code 3.

Is this possibly a kind of 'trunking' that is not detected by the x36, and it just describes it as 'DMR'? Or do you suspect that the users really do have three frequencies to choose from when they select their talkgroup?

I've taken to putting all the frequencies for a site into one 'One Frequency Trunk' system so that it will share the TGIDs and RIDs/UIDs, so I don't need to duplicate them, but I'm curious if I should be searching for some other telltale sign in these "systems'" makeup to point me towards programming it as a different kind of system.

Is there any plans to change Sentinel so we can leave the name field blank, I know I can work around it, but I would like to be able to delete a name field so I can see DMR info.

Can you post the licenses or at least the entities and the county?

Is it the same people talking on all of the channels (frequencies)? Or is it different sets of people?

If the frequencies are close together, one would probably use different color codes. If they are separated by enough spectrum space, it doesn't matter too much, as long as no one around you is on a nearby frequency on the same color code. I wouldn't read too much into the color codes.

they aren't "multicasting" the same signal across all three frequencies!

TY for the reply.... Thats exactly what i was looking for. There is DMR and a possible TURBO site close to me i might try to investigate. :) But the NXDN is what im waiting for!

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I have been away from this for awhile was helping son move I know that the firmware in Sentinel was updated but was the DB updated for DMR? I know that I read at one time that the DB was also going to be updated to support DMR sometime this month or was it already updated and I just missed it.

have a great Friday.

UPMan any Updates on DMR or Sentinel Data base to download DMR

I think he had previously stated that database support for DMR was expected in October, at which time the cost of the add-on would increase again.

There was a beta 1.11.16 that was released two weeks ago now, if you don't mind pre-release firmware. Download link and more info in this topic: DMR Improvement Test

x36-HP DMR firmware v16

I've moved the DMR Update firmware into public release. This means you can use the standard method for updating the firmware (using Sentinel).

The last firmware update I applied to my 436HP and 536HP was the DMR version 15 on 7/22/16.

I am running Sentinel version 1.07.03 on my pc. Just now when I connected both scanners to
the pc (one at a time of course) and used the Update tab of Sentinel, I got a message box that
says I already have the latest version of the firmware.

How can that be unless v16 is the same as v15 and nothing changed?

Sentinel would not load firmware v16. I had to do it manually, same as we have been doing.

Like everyone has been told Sentinel will not install a beta. V15 is the public release V16 is a beta release the only way to install a beta is follow the readme file that comes with the beta release. Mine says ver 1.11.16

You have not been paying ATTENTION!

V16 WAS a Beta Release but NOW it has been moved into production
and has been put into Sentinel according to Upman.

Read the thread entitled "DMR Public Release" by UPMan on 07-27-2016 at 11:05 AM.

Let me quote it for you so you don't get lost.
"I've moved the DMR Update firmware into public release. This means you can use the standard method for updating the firmware (using Sentinel)."

ONLY -- It didn't work !!!!!!!!!! Sentinel regarded v16 to be the same as v15 and it did NOT UPGRADE.
I ended up doing it manually, just as I have many times before. This ain't my first rodeo.
