I don't accept PMs (until I turned it off, I was flooded with PMs from people who could have just posted in an open forum).

I don't need your password. Just a login name.

I take it that you get that error when you try to log in...

I just tried again. pinkwetnoses is the user name. I can log into the registration page, I can fill in all the fields, but when I click the "register' button it won't go thru. Below is another cut and paste from that incident.


Enable Robust Exception Information to provide greater detail about the source of errors. In the Administrator, click Debugging & Logging > Debugging Settings, and select the Robust Exception Information option.

I just registered a BCD436HP into your account and encountered no errors. It must be something you are entering incorrectly...

You may get a popup to the effect "How do you want to open this file" just escape to close it and drag the file to the firmware folder.

If you can't tell which file is which I suggest you stop and don't do anything as you don't appear to be qualified to operate a computer Sir. Just wait until the update is available via Sentinel.

BCDx36HP Sentinel Version 1 07 03 Bug??

Paul,

I think there is a bug in Sentinel, as i can read the scanner and replace the favorites list fine, but it will not update the lists on the scanner. i removed 2 lists from Sentinel saved it and wrote it to the 436 and got no prompt to make the change. i then redownloaded the settings from the scanner and the lists showed back up in Sentinel. I also made changes to favorites list for a DMR test list that is not showing on the scanner but is in Sentinel.

What do you suggest I do? I log in and out of websites all day long with no issues.

It does appear that the site will not accept all the serial numbers. Are there any numbers I should omit? Other than that possibility, nothing is being entered incorrectly.

That was explained to you last Friday and a Friday before that too. I would read the READ_ME_FOR_PASSWORD.txt file again word for word.

When you go to download to your scanner,try clicking on the button that says "erase current lists" or something like that. You want to rewrite it all from scratch.

Note carefully whether you are being asked for the "serial number (SN)", or the "electronic serial number (ESN)"... they are different.

To register your scanner --> SN (12 digits) can be found on the barcode label on the back of your scanner.

To purchase an upgrade key after registration --> ESN (14 digits) and Checksum (SUM) can be found from your scanner's Menu Button --> Settings --> See Scanner Info --> Firmware Version.

If the serial number on the bar code label is worn off, or if the label is not available, substitute the "260" in your ESN with the letter Z. (for example, if your "ESN" is 37626087654321, your "SN" would be 376Z87654321 ).

Thanks that did the trick, i guess there was something in the scanner that the software did not like.

Update went smooth. When I ran sentinel however, it asked if I wanted to repair or remove. I choose repair of course. Did this happen to anyone else?

If you installed Sentinel from one of the release candidates, it was the same version, I'm sure, so it was treating it as if you were running the installer for the same version you already installed either last Friday or the one before.
