Long time lurker here, first post.

I've replaced the RC4 firmware today with the release firmware on my BCD436HP, and I wanted to chime in and say thanks to UPMan and everyone else involved on the Uniden side for all the hard work involved in developing the DMR firmware for the BCDx36HP scanners.

I wish more companies would listen to and work with their customers in the manner that Uniden has with this development process. It has really been an outstanding effort.

Also, I wanted to give my sincere thanks to all the RR users here who did post up to now. Your posts were essential in helping me navigate the BCD436HP (and BCD396T / XT!) from day one, as evidenced by the fact that I haven't had to ask a single question, since they've all been answered here.

I'm looking forward to the database update in August, or whenever it comes.

Again, thanks to Paul, the software engineer, and the beta testers for the work on the DMR firmware. Not sure if it's too late, but here are a few things I'm still seeing after today's update:

- Is it possible to change Sentinel so that it will allow the default name for a channel? Alternatively, could the DMR group ID be allowed to display with a non-default name?

- I'm still seeing a local Cap+ system not tracking properly/missing replies sometimes. Granted, it works as it should a lot of the time, but there are still issues. I have checked the LCN order against DSD+ (and DSD+ is able to track fine). I'm not sure if this is relevant, but sometimes the "CAP" indicator disappears from the display for several seconds at a time.

- Finally - and this may be a long shot - but would it be possible to change the way the scanner and Sentinel treat DMR conventional - i.e., treat as a single channel and not a One Frequency Trunked System? DMR conventional is not really a type of trunked system, of course. The way things are now, I have to create a separate "system" for DMR conventional channels, and can't just lump them in with other conventional analog channels where they really belong.

Thanks for displaying the DMR group ID when doing Search with Scan. I do a lot of business band scanning and searching, and this is most appreciated.

Are you on the my.uniden site or on the scanner? cause the ESN is under the [See scanner information] -> [Firmware Version].

Mine is everything after the SN

If you installed Sentinel from one of the release candidates, it was the same version, I'm sure, so it was treating it as if you were running the installer for the same version you already installed either last Friday or the one before.

That makes sense, Thanks Jay

hectic week

it's been amazing watching this DMR Upgrade evolve over these last couple months. Thanks Uniden and Upman. I think I'll have to order another 436/536 to get in on the cheaper Upgrades.

Bands are open where I'm at. I've seen this freq quite a bit. I don't see no info for this system nor sysid. I'm using the newest dmr firmware.

I recently uploaded the latest firmware. Is there a way to revert back to the firmware without DMR?

Yes you can here is the link Index of /files/firmwares
Or, on your pc, Sentinel retains the last update f1le that was applied via the update process using Sentinel (the last one would be the Sentinel applied update that added the ProVoice option, V1_01_10_02.
C:\ProgramData\Uniden\BCDx36HP_Sentinel\Updater

If you have an extra blank data card, you can also use a card reader to download the last "Sentinel" firmware update. Use the Clear User Data option to set up the card, then choose Update Firmware, which will cause the last "official release" firmware to be added to the card. You can then either copy the firmware file over to your scanner's firmware file in mass storage mode, or use the 'write to scanner' option to add your Favorites to the extra card, then swap it with the one currently in the scanner & power it up with the previous firmware to be installed.
