The password is in the readme, and the reason you need to "deal with riddles" is because you need to read the readme file in full so you understand what the beta firmware is all about. It's not at all hard to figure out what the password is once you read the file (and the instructions on how to obtain the password) completely.

In any case, you don't need RC3 - the final release is available from the very first post in this thread. Use that one instead. (and be prepared to look for the password in the readme file, for the same reasons I mentioned above)

I think the people that helped in the DMR software beta testing should get the upgrade for free. I know they already paid for it but they too as well worked hard and gave great feedback and suggestions to get the software ready for prime time.

Just tested conventional channels programmed to pick up any type of transmission and search out any type of coded squelch. Not only were my previously listed issues and wants not addressed, but now we have an additional problem.

The scanner locks onto a ENC P25 channel and now shows DMR NET, SITE, TG and UID...except there will never be anything but "0" in in those fields. Was someone trying to add NAC, like I requested? Still no NAC on ENC/DAT/LNK, which would be very useful.

And record continues to record for the entire scan delay period unless it detects a P25 end code, so that was not addressed either.

I sure wish Uniden would have cleaned this up before the final release, but I guess nothing but DMR reports were considered.

If the scanner does not detect the P25 end code, it does not know that the transmission is over, so it will continue to record (not a bug, unless I am misunderstanding your report).

In my opinion, DMR support has really breathed new life into scanning for me. Sure, most DMR is full of what some consider very interesting communications, but I'm one of those people who finds those communications more interesting than public safety most of the time.

$50 to upgrade your 436HP/536HP is a no brainer. If you don't have the DMR option on your 436/536HP and can swing it, I'd suggest you nab it. Well worth it. The performance is outstanding, based upon the various Con+ and Cap+ systems I monitor.

Been running latest version on a 536 for last 24 hours. Works very nicely. Lots of DMR activity here. This really does open up new dimension to scanning. Could easily devote a scanner or two to nothing but DMR in this area.

I've had success with the latest firmware release, picking up 2 CON+ systems, 2 CAP+ systems, and even a DMR 1 frequency site. Sound is very loud and clear and seems to be picking up all transmissions and their replies. Searching works well too, displaying color code, slot number, and type of dmr.

I program a bunch of frequencies that "could be" dmr channels into a conventional list and then use record for 24 hours at a time, then review all the recordings. Two things I wish Uniden would add to the recordings in the display of the actual time and date stamp that each recording was made, and also would like to see the dmr type displayed there also. (ie. Con, Cap, Dmr, DT3, etc.) This would help better in determining the type of system to program into a favorites list.

All in all, I'm very happy with how it is working. Thanks Paul and to all the beta testers at Uniden.

Thank you, Paul. Most of my previous recordings were P25, and perhaps the end code was detected, but I had some analog recordings where the scan delay time was set shorter, so I might not have noticed long recording tails. Since I was testing my deep search scan list with long delay (30 seconds), and have been looking closely at behavior, I noticed the recording time was longer. I always assumed (dangerous practice) that the recording stopped a second or two after the squelch closed. Thank you for the clarification.

I hope someday we see some improvements in this and other areas but, I know you have all been working hard on DMR. ENC skip on P25 conventional scan was a huge improvement! Thanks for that! :)

Please correct me if I'm wrong (which is probably the case): It is not yet possible to program CON and CAP+ systems using favorites in Sentinel, only conventional, right? CON and CAP+ can still only programmed through the unit keyboard, until the final version of Sentinel comes out?

The "MotoTRBO Trunk" system option is what you want, and it's in the latest Sentinel.
