I highly doubt they have any effect on error rates.

Could be that the error rates are so erratic. One minute there are none....then five or six more scroll by.

Right, ok but I dont know the difference! It is hard to tweak when you dont know what to look for or what your looking at! So I am continually testing and tweaking following advice from people on here. I understand that reading the instructions is the first thing to do, but the "instructions" are scattered about in a few text files and in no defined order according to the protocol. Personally I find the instructions too vague. So I do have everything working ok but still fighting with garbled audio at times. But in time I will get that fixed.
