Other then being able to listen to the Painesville and Mentor service departments, is the DMR Upgrade worth the money for Lake Count?

That "worth it" factor is solely up to you - are these things you'd like to listen to? If so, yes, worth it. If not, then you're tossing money to the wind.

Sure. You never know what kind of excitement you'll hear from those service department workers.

Plus, there's the thrill of listening to concrete haulers, landscapers and school bus drivers.

I don't know, nothing like listening to a call for a water main break and sometimes those school bus drivers can
get a little cranky.

If you're interested in listening to amateur radio, there are a few UHF DMR repeaters in the area.

Do a search in the database for identified DMR frequencies or systems in your county. If you're interested in monitoring any of these folks then yes, the upgrade is definitely worth it. I'm sure there's unidentified stuff out there as well. Part of the fun of spinning your radio's dial is finding and ID'ing the unknowns. Best wishes!
