Congrats! I have the 878 now. The 878 has a few things the 868 doesn't have, such as APRS for analog (868 does do digital APRS), roaming (automatic switching to repeater with the strongest signal, intended for large linked networks), Bluetooth and talker alias. The D878 also has a new screen colour scheme, but the latest firmware for 868 will do the same nice black background color scheme the 878 does, if you're interested. Bottom line, the 868 is a great radio. They have very decent analog TX and RX as well. You will be very happy with it.

I have both the Alinco and Anytone 878. Both are solid radios, but I prefer using the Anytone. Alinco seems to have let software (both CPS and firmware) development slide. There hasn't been an update in several months whereas the Anytone is (upon last check) at v 1.12.
Also, while I don't use APRS much, I like the VHF APRS functionality of the Anytone.
Since the Anytone, Alinco, and bTech radios (and maybe others) hatched from the same egg, I'd like to see some third party (make that RT Systems) release a single CPS application that could distinguish and program each radio.
I have the Anytone 868 and like it. The roaming feature of the 878 interested me when I first heard of it. However, it was never clear to me how the roaming feature was implemented. Does it requiring a beacon from the repeater or does it look solely at signal strength?
Joining the conversation late, but wanted to mention how pleased I am with the customer service and repairs/upgrades done by Connect Systems recently needed a replacement case, mailed it to them on Saturday morning priority mail and got notification it was on the way back Monday afternoon. Talk about speed. I've dealt with them a number of times and continue to be real impressed with the service and price for radios and accessories.
I've ordered radios from them for both business and personal use. I've had nothing but good experiences with them.

How has the radio worked out for you so far?
My club is in the process of putting a DMR repeater on the air and I have been eyeing the 868...
I have a number of DMR radios including the Anytone 868UV. It is my go to radio for all around use. RX and TX audio are both good and battery life more than satisfactory. Capacity for channels. talkgroups and contacts is among the best. My only complaint is that it's a bit slow to start up, at compared to my other radios.
