Does anyone listen to WA-DNR Fire during fire season much? Any tips? I've noticed that there are 8-10 frequencies (Repeaters with different PL tones for each DNR Region. Which ones are tac channels and which are dispatch channels.. or are they ALL dispatch channels? the RR database just lists everything as a tac channel only.

My primary listening area is Pacific Cascade Region AND Southeast Region. Anyone know what apparatus numbering might be?

You can also PM me stuff as well. I have a roof/garage mount antenna, BC996p2 and a Uniden Bearcat 898T on a splitter sharing the same antenna. Works great for USFS Mt Hood and Gorge Scenic Fire from Salem/Keizer Oregon.

Check out this site for repeater locations https://www.dnr.wa.gov/publications/rp_fire_radio_repeater_map.pdf
You need to scan all the repeaters you can to get a complete picture, occasionally dispatch will multi-select repeaters to broadcast announcements, but usually they use only one repeater at a time. They do have Tac channels that are simplex, as well as DNR Common, also simplex. Lots to listen to during the summer, somewhat less during the wet months, more timber sales and road maint during that time.
