Do any of the Pro-9x series battery cases fit each other?

I know the 92 is a 6 cell, so that's out.

I know I could download the parts lists and compare the numbers, but I'm sure someone here knows.

I have a 93. Do the AA drop in cases from the 95, 96, or any other models fit?

I have a pro 95 and a pro 97, and their cases fit eachother. It also looks like the pro 96 might have the same case.

The Pro-89, 93, 95, 96, and 97 all have the same holders.

I am pretty sure the 93/95 is the same as the 96, etc. The easiest way is to look up the parts number at the Radio Shack web site.

Pro 96 holds 4 double AA

Pro 96 holds 4 double AA battries. I have Pro 92 that holds 6. I am not sure about the others.

My Pro-79's battery case fits perfectly with the 96, and vice versa.

I just relised my local RS has all the scanners on a shelf where the customers can play with them. I could just take the battery cases out and try The manager is a friendly ham who has everything except the 2096 in stock. Ya gotta love a RS with a selection

I took your word for this when you posted it; however, while looking up something else, I noticed you were mistaken. The following is extracted from the detailed parts lists:

The online parts list for the 93 is fouled up a little. It has a couple of lines run together. In any case the 93 and 95 use the same battery holders.

That's odd. I got my info from my local Radio Shack manager. Back when the scanner was new, I asked about another pack, and I was given a number that was not going to be available for a month. I asked if it was compatible with any other packs, so he looked up the number for the PRO-95 (I heard the packs were the same) and said it was different. I even got the number it showed, and it was different!

I must have gotten bad info (I know - from a Radio Shack? UNHEARD OF! :wink: ). Somewhere I have the part number he gave me. I'll have to see if I can find it. The holder for the '96 was also more expensive.
