It is too far away from pretty much any major populated centre to get a whole lot of traffic. Unless you live closer to it than Edmonton, you tend not to hear anything except when aircraft heading there or coming from there are in transit and headed over you. On a REALLY good day with a discone up high you may be able to get some of the high altitude stuff or air to air refueling stuff, but otherwise no deal. You have to drive about an hour Northeast of Edmonton to start picking stuff up reliably.

Hello,
I will be spending 10 days about 250Km East of Cold Lake next month (Fishing), scanner in boat of course,
Is there a site I might get their UHF / VHF freq's from? Especially interested in any training freqs.

Best Regards,
Dave Howden

From that far away, I doubt you will pick up anything from CFB Cold Lake, but check out www.canairradio.com for a set of frequencies to start off from. For military air stuff, search in 25 (of you want to be REALLY thorough 12.5) khz steps between 225 and 400 mhz and see if you come up with anything.
