I had a computer go south on me and needed to reinstall DSD+ FL from scratch. I have probably a dozen or so updates that were all unzipped properly over time with my password.

Now, since I need to reinstall, I assumed I assumed I needed to go back to my "original" archive I received when I signed up, then apply each subsequent update to get back to a current install. But, suddenly, my password does not work.

I checked my subscription date, and I had indeed gone past my 1 year subscription. But should that invalidate any of the previous archives I was sent/downloaded?

In any case, I re-upped my FL subscription, but is there something else I should do in the meantime to get up and running while I'm waiting for a response? I'm hoping they'll just send me a "fresh" archive of the latest version, a new password, and then I can carry on.

Any info or input would be appreciated.

There is a 1 year subscription option. Can't imagine why they would send someone outdated files from an expired license.
The new ones would be backward compatible so you wouldn't need to go through every version.

It's apparently the old archives that "expire", and not the password. They probably have a time limit on them to keep people from falling back to a completely obsolete version.

I had my fresh archive within a couple of hours of renewing my subscription. I received the same password I had before. It opened the new archive just as expected, but it still won't open my oldest archives.

Not that any of it matters. The new archive was a full version, ready to be dumped on top of a fresh 1.101 install. It had been a long time since I needed to fiddle with anything in DSDPlus... and it took me a while to get my head back in the game. But everything's back in order now.

Thanks.

I keep a running archive of all DSDPlus FL releases since first obtaining my lifetime update and did notice that there was a change in my password
somewhere around the the release of DSD+ 2.228 or perhaps it was with DSD+ 2.235. Not that it makes any difference now, but you'd need your original pre DSD+ 2.228 password to unarchive old zip files that you may have retained as backup.
