Exactly which currently available amateur frequencies and what services are after them?
Yes, please, I'd like to know the answer to this exact question.

Oh, it's 900MHz from the terrestrial GPS people? Yeah, that ain't happening. Once they realize the noise floor from Part 15, they'll scrap that idea. Just a bunch of armchair lawyers and engineers with no practical knowledge there.

And the whole Cosplay thing is reaching... Good lord, there's kids around FFS...

Our local VE consortium was disbanded due to (I think) the rise of online VE sessions. We always had it in the same conspicuous place and after five or six months of no shows the inevitable happened. I had two badges, one from Westcars and one from the ARRL. I discussed whether or not I could get my ARRL badge renewed with a very good friend and fellow ham and the answer was He didn't know for sure. I'm not a member of ARRL, so I emailed the VE department of the ARRL, requesting a renewal. The next day, I received an email from them renewing my badge with a sticker and an official letter stating I was a VE in good standing with the ARRL VE Department until my sticker arrived.

So, if you are a VE and are wondering if they still honor past VE participation, and are still in good standing with the ham community, YES they will renew your ARRL VE badge regardless of your ARRL membership.

I stopped renewing my ARRL membership, because I got bored and the annual dues seem to increase each year. To get technical, the FCC requires each and every Amateur Radio Operator to be Licensed, but there's nothing says that we all have to join the ARRL.

Don't get me wrong, the ARRL has their purpose, but like everything else, the ARRL has their Pros and Cons.

ARRL membership is too expensive. The education resources are to be commended. The promotion of contesting has ruined the HF bands.

20 meters, contesting, contesting.
