Do I need a BCT15 if I have a 996?

I live in an area when some agencies use APCO-25 digital transmissions and others are still on analogue. Would I need a BCT15 or equivalent to listen to the analogue transmissions, or will the 996 pick those up, as well as the digital transmissions?

No, the 996T will pickup both.

True, the 996 will pick up both. But there is something to be said for having multiple scanners running at once, scanning different systems, if your budget allows.

I have both a BCT15 & a BCD996T. IMO the 15 does do a better job of pulling in distant analog signals.
