Have a PRO-106 for about a week now and everything is working great. Purchased the RS communication cable and installed ARC500 and became a member of RR online. Just a quick question cuz I can't seem to find my answer from many searches in this forum. Say I created a long list of frequencies for only my county and upload them to my scanner yesterday. Scan list 1. Then today I want to add the counties that surround mine. If I upload this new list to my scanner and also called it scan list 1, does it completely overwrite what's there already or add to it, or what. Yes I could name it scan list 2 but I just want to understand what it does with a "same named" scan list. Thanks, and I love this website.

I'm new to the software and this scanner but my first thoughts were to create a separate scan list for the outlying communities so I could easily turn them off if I wanted to. Actually I thought of creating 5 other scan lists that would each cover a different community. If this is dumb or there is a better suggestion I'm listening. Thanks.

Sounds good to me. That's what I do, too. You can have as many as 20 scanlists. May as well make good use of them.

Welcome aboard. You've come to the right place for information. Keep asking questions when you need!

Yes, it will overwrite. Look at it like a word document on your computer. Let's say you create and save a file named "myfile" on your computer. If you start working on another document and save it as "myfile" it will overwrite the original document, but if you first open "myfile" and add new information then save it, you have the old information and the new in your document file.

With the software, you can load the config "from" the SD card, add new frequencies with your software, and save the config "to" the SD card. You will now have all your old and new content in the scan list.

Sorry for the long explanation, but hope that helps,
Keith
