Do scanners generally have a long shelf life? ( especially digital?)

I knew a guy back in the day (1965), who dropped his Lafayette C.B. radio in the lake. He fished it out and opened the cabinet and "emptied" as much water out as he could. He then placed it into his gas oven with only the heat afforded by the pilot. After two full weeks, he fired it up. It worked! I don't know for how long.

true!! but that was when "copper wire" was "copper wire". not copper coated aluminum.

they make NOTHING like they used to. :(

1992. My wife spilled coffee into our Tandy computer. Fortunately it was turned off at the multi outlet extension cord at the time. I came home to find her in tears because this thing wasn't cheap at the time. I finally got her calmed down, took the computer apart ( I was a computer tech) and walked to the sink and proceded to wash the mother board in the kitchen sink. She about had an heart attack. Took a blow dryer to it then put it all back together again. Damn thing worked for another ten years before lightning got it.

lol
