Does any body know what kind of system Eastman Chemical company,
uses. I think it might be EDACS. I am not sure. I hope someone can help me out.

By the way I am montering the KIngsport area. I would also like to know if anybody has kingsport Public works frequencys.

awww nuts.

This scanner cannot trunk-track, and it cannot go above 512MHz in frequency. You are going to need to get a new scanner. I would recommend a pro-95. Or, if you can afford it, one of the new wizbang scanners with lots of buttons to push.

I would not be quick to dump your 2025 though, you never know when it might come in handy. :wink:

I would get the Pro-96 for your area, Kingsport uses a digital trunk
system. Sullivan county uses analog and the Pro-96 does both.
The Pro-95 is a great scanner, but Kingsport is switching to digital
and the Pro-95 would track or decode it.

Just thought I would let you in on that info...

May I ask where you heard that? I have not heard anything in the papper. Has anyone else seen anything in the papper?

It is listed in the R&R database as having one, check it out.
I don't live close enough to hear if the digital system is up
and running. I barely hear the analog trunk.
Maybe it is in the test phase?...
Let me know if you hear or know anything more.

Well I guess it was removed, Sullivan county DID have a listing for
a digital trunk just about a month ago. It stated an Astro 3600 Digital
system for Kingsport.
I would say someone corrected the database.

But now it says IMBE and Analog.
Don't know what IBME means but I would say thats

It means that the system is capable of both analog and digital talk groups. It all depends what type of radios an agency ( company) is using . If they are set up for digital then they can use digital .

All the talkgroups listed in that list as A are in analog mode

Astro refers to a family of Motorola Digital capable radios, including the 2 digital 3600 kbps TRS's.
These are the Astro IMBE, which can be a mixed mode using IMBE digital, and Analog Voice, and the Astro VSELP, which is a pure digital format, and is not monitorable by any scanner. VSELP is an old format and is gradually being phased out and upgraded to usually the regular IMBE format, or the true P-25 format (9600 kbps)

Also included in the Astro family are digital capable conventional formats.
