Does anybody know an miltary aircraft frequencyies for Sullivan county? The reason I am asking, I am new to scanning, and I have seen jets fly over my house.

If your scanner has milair (225-400Mhz) you might try the search feature in blocks since the spectrum is so large. Make sure it's in 25Khz. As for county specific frequencies there aren't any.

2 places I can think of that might have this info; first, a small Yahoo based egroup for your area:

It's always better to get info from local folks, rather than try to guess from possibly outdated lists what works in your area.

Active Military

If you are monitoring in West Tennessee, during the week you will hear military traffic on: 348.9 & 324.6 (AM) (These are In-flight Refueling Freqs)

If you listen to: 364.2 You will hear fighter jets talking to an airborne AWAC jet with a callsign of "Northern Lights." (Early Warning Radar)

Listen Monday thru Friday and report what you hear. Always monitor 121.5 (AM), the emergency air freq for civilian aircraft. If a fighter intercepts an airliner, you will hear it on 121.5 Also monitor 243.0 (AM) which is 2x 121.5 and is the military airborne emergency freq.

If you hear a signal on either freq that sounds like a star wars weapon, call your nearest FAA station and report it ! However, if it happens at 15 minutes past the hour, disregard, it is a test. Any other time, it might be an ELT transmitter, transmitting from a crash site.

Be careful though....your computer and other electronics may send harmonics on either freq. However, the star wars sound is a constant signal from High to Low...High to Low.....High to Low...etc.
