Hi Jock, go to the Uniden forums, Uniden tech support and you will find several simultaneous threads regarding the new firmware update for the 100 and 200 that you get directly from Uniden Sentinel for free.

You need to install this new firmware update before you can purchase, for $20, the waterfall upgrade from Uniden website. There are a number of photos and explanations of the waterfall feature in those threads.

I'm not your guy to describe any of it, as due to the feedback on these threads, I have chosen not to install the firmware updates at this time and I personally have little interest in the waterfall feature. 73s.. Bob.

First of all, if you decide to purchase any of the upgrades, don't get them from any of the dealers... get them direct from my.uniden.com for a much cheaper price without the dealer markups. You purchase the digital upgrade keys from Uniden and enter them through the scanner's menu system, a very simple process and just takes a few minutes.

The extreme upgrade is just for the Homepatrol 1&2 scanners. The features are described here (the screen shots seem to be missing):

If those features are of interest to you, it's worth the upgrade... they function very well as designed.

No they've replaced the heat sink with water cooling.

Personally I wait until enough feedback is gathered and initial issues are ironed out before jumping on the upgrade bandwagon, especially if I need to shell out more dough to acquire said upgrade
