Does anyone in the Detroit/Windsor wanna play with SSTV/FT-8/etc on 2M with me?

I got my license and a Baofeng a while ago, and after hanging out on the local repeater for a while, I kinda just went back to monitoring other stuff on my SDR. I want to get back into it, but the local ragchew stuff isn't really my thing (I like you guys, small talk just isn't something I'm good at though), and I'm still saving up for a HF rig, so my Baofeng is all I have for now.

I've started monitoring 146.520 simplex again, and I've recently been calling CQSSTV on 145.500NFM, but only today realized that my rx antenna was disconnected, so I've missed any replies.

I'm hoping someone else in the area would be interested in running stuff like SSTV, FT-8, and other modes on 2M, if nothing else, just for practice.

Thanks and 73s

Those modes need an SSB capable radio. At a bare minimum, you could try a 9600 packet connection, since that is direct manipulation of the FM, not audio limited. I don't think any of the CCR models have 9600.

You can use FM for SSTV. The International Space Station occasionally puts on an event where they broadcast SSTV images on 145.800 FM. I've managed to copy a few.

To the OP.. Apart from asking here on Radio Reference, your best bet would be to get in touch with a club in your area to see if anyone locally actually uses SSTV on 2m. It's not a commonly used mode.
