BTW I have all of the old Vesta ring tones somewhere, I bribed an AT&T guy with Chinese dinner over night when my PSAP needed a service call. If I can find where they are I'll put them in this thread or on the web somewhere.

I had the "Dorothy" Vesta ringtone for my incoming text messages for years. Fun times :)

It's a standard ringtone from a Polycom IP phone, called "Triplet"


I recognized it from the distinctive Polycom slightly muddled tone sound.

Yeah, I always hear that over my scanner on multiple agencies when dispatch is talking, usually with bells and other crap going off. Makes it sound like they're talking while on a casino floor

It's human factors/psychology that the gaming industry is all about. The softness of the tones lets you hear them over and over again for long periods without getting on your nerves.
