Just trying to fine tune my Gre500 since the Reband is complete
Does it matter which order I install the Freq for each area
For example do you put the main control freq. first then any other after that (see Davis Co, Tooele Co Etc.
do you need the Slco control freq on all other areas? Mine seems to work better with the Slco freq in each

Please see file and respond

i was thinking of bying the gre 500 i have a question for the grounp if it has all eady been talked about i am sorry when Programing the TSYS does it matter how you do it
unlike the pro 92 with the ch and bank system which seemed to matter on the freq you could get it to scan faster by putting the freq. in order. Allso Rember how you did the talk group does it matter what
order you put in the talk group how does it treat each talk group is there a proity or does it matter at all how you program talk groups does it work on freq or just talk group how does it scan. I have been reading the owerns manual and have a little idea about obeject orenited scanning but nothing in detail

Nope it shouldn't matter. The GRE500/600 and PRO106/197 trunk off the control channels and it will lock in on the first one it gets signal from. There is a thread on this forum about multi site mode which does tell the sanner how to handle switching from site to site based on a signal strengh which you can set.

Likewise with the TG's the only thing that matters is that if you create more than one TSYS they will not work from TSYS to TSYS so you will need to re-enter them if you split UCAN in to more than one TSYS.

I was thinking of buying the GRE 500.
I have some questions for the group. If it has already been talked about I am sorry.
1. When Programing the TSYS, does it matter how you do it? Unlike the Pro92 with the channel and bank system, which seemed to matter on the freq. You could get it to scan faster by putting the freqs in order. Also, Remember how you did the talk groups.
2. Does it matter what order you put the talk groups in?
3. How does it treat each talk group?
4. Is there a priority or does it matter at all how you program talk groups?
5. Does it work on freq or just talk group?
6. How does it scan? I have been reading the owner's manual and have a little idea about object oriented scanning but nothing in detail.

1. When programming the TSYS, it does matter how you program it.
Since I know you are new to this, I recommend that you program in only the Simul sites. Each site would be a separate TSYS. Only program the primary and alternate Control Channels. You need to have the correct trunking tables and you have to select CUSTOM. For Salt Lake City, You select DEFAULT. You need all four control channels.
2. It does not matter what order the talk groups are entered in.
3. You can make it treat some talk groups differently.
You can select Delay, Lockout, Priority, Alarm, and LED for each TG.
4. Any TG can have a priority.
5. All trunked scanners work on both freq and TG.
These use Control Channel Trunking, which means for Motorola, the only freqs you need are the Control Channels. Program in the TGs you want to receive.
6. If you program it simple, it will scan similar to a Pro92, Pro93, or Pro95.
However, the programming can be done in more complicated ways, and if it isn't done correctly, it will still scan, but you will hear very little audio.

NOTE:
If you want to go to a specific TG, such as SWAT,
press MAN, then u or t to select a ScanList,
Press q or p to move to a TGRP.
Once the scanner is manually parked on a TGRP,
It will monitor all activity on only that TGRP
unless you have Priority activated.

The true beauty of these scanners is that the programming can be adjusted to work
with just about any radio system used in the United States.
Analog or p25 digital, Motorola, EDACS, LTR, VHF Trunked like Wyoming and S Dakota.
700 MHz trunked like Idaho. 380, 406, 450-512, 800, & 900.
