I could've sworn last night I heard them talking about using infrared from a helicopter, but I didn't think anything about it until today a guy at work was telling me he saw a helicopter hovering over the city yesterday. Anyone know anything about this?

There is helicopter flying out of the Roanoke Civic Center this week. I saw it parked in the parking lot last night. I think it is part of the fair/expedition going on there. I know they sold rides last year.
Also, there was a helicopter in the are today flying low level and checking power lines. Not sure who provided that helicopter.
Finally, the state police helicopter in Lynchburg has IR capability. That could have been in the area for some special event.
No, Roanoke does not own a helicopter.....
