BCD436HP/BCD536HP: Does the UBCD436_PT support the Serial Mode?

It should only be some minor differences from the US version, like a different bandplan. Major functions like serial and mass storage mode should be the same. That being said, it will identify itself as a PT version and any remote controlling or viewing software might not accept that version identity even if all function codes and display indicator are exactly the same as in the US version.

Trying to get it connected to Proscan but having a hard time trying . Installed com0com and have ports showing in device manager but no connection to the software .

No, the UBCD436PT and UBCD536PT do not support remote control via the serial port.

proscan,s webpage showes it does ! im confused .
ProScan supports the Mass Storage mode for the purposes of reading and writing the favorites lists.

I read the user manual and it doesn't operate like other Uniden scanners, that when you plug in the USB cable it asks about using mass storage or serial mode. Instead it does nothing and you have to go into its menu system and choose programming mode.
For what reason have they blocked serial mode in the scanner and then also disabled all kinds of remote control and viewing software? They have put extra resources and time to alter the firmware to be able to do this. They also changed the file structure on the SD card to be unique and not the same as all other versions of Unidens SD card scanners. Why do they do this?

Both the 436-PT and 536-PT work with Proscan via the serial port for remote control,
