Does this Ebay Pro-26 scanner look worth my $?

I am thinking of buying this one. does it look like a good deal? i was hoping to get it for $65.00 or $75.00. or should i just wait to get the pro-96? i wanted to get this 26 for militaryair because their is a airbase close to were i live. i need some advice on to wheter get this scanner or the pro-96. :?:

Scanner does not show more than average use. Because of age this scanner may have worn out keypad and dim back light. Bid is now $52 and 60 would be tops.

Dude get the PRO96. You wont regret it.

Your best bet is to save your money for a Pro-96. They may run $500.00 at Radio Shack but it is well worth it. You can find them on eBay for about $450.00 (Final bid, end of auction) but then you still have to pay shipping and insurance on top of that price and you don't get the Radio Shack warranty from an eBay seller. If you do get a Pro-96 the next thing you will want to do is get a program cable from Radio Shack and go to their (Radio Shack's) web site and look up the Pro-96. Once there you will find a link to download a firmware update for the scanner. Also there is a great program that you can download from the web that will allow you to program the scanner from your computer. It's called WIN96 and you can find the program at http://www.starrsoft.com/software/Win96/. This program has a trial period on it of 30 days and if you like the program you can buy it for $35.00 (I think that's the price I paid).

While the '96 is an excellent unit, rather than spend $60 on a USED PRO-26, I would spend about twice the amount for a NEW PRO-95. Then, you can save up toward a PRO-96. (which is about 3x the cost of a PRO-95)

But, if you can do it in a reasonable timeframe, go for the 96. It all depends on how fast you want it.

BTW, the '26 went for nearly as much as a NEW 95! :shock:
