So, when I check the History Log and see this entry, with no Talkgroup ID or UID, is it likely data being sent, this no voice TGID or UID?

This is from a Uniden SDS100.

I dont have any Idas systems to confirm, but dont they have a blip of data every few seconds such as Cap+?

Also, I see the signal strength is quite weak , -120, so could be false decode.

Just curious, the 37, is that the hit counter?

My experiance from Uniden scanners are that IDS are the most common false decode of conventional analog transmissions. At -120dBm the squelch are just opening up with a lot of noise, so the risk of false decode are high.

That is good to know Ubbe. I do have a bunch of them in various modes. Generally speaking, IF I have activity with BOTH a Talkgroup ID and UID, particularly if it is more than once, it is usually legitimate. The challenge, of course, is separating the valid from the invalid entries!

I wouldn't trust any of those hits, as they are all very short bursts with awful signal strength below -100 dBm. If you are truly interested in sniffing out signals like this, you really need to improve your monitoring situation.

...If you are truly interested in sniffing out signals like this, you really need to improve your monitoring situation.

What, specifically, are you referring to? Are you thinking of a better receiver, antenna or feedline?

Improve your reception/signal. Without a reliable signal on these hits, you're never going to get reliable results.
