I recently bought a new truck and did not want to drill holes all over it so I tried this, Most 25 ft tape measures have a strong belt clip on the side, take the belt clip off and fasten it to your scanner, or speaker mounting bracket, sometimes two works for larger units, now you can clip it to a visor, or the thin part of plastic around the dash openings or astray compartment, holds well and easily removed for service or security. This worked on my 05 ranger, that does not have the smokers package, on the bottom lip of where the ashtray slips into. I mounted a bct7 and works great. scannerdweeb.

You can also take the tape measure with you and amaze all your friends on the jobsite (or parties .. yeah right :)) by "caculating" their age.

Streach out about 110" of tape and take the end of the tape measure, bend it around and put the end of it beside the year that we are currently in. So it would be 105" for 2005.

Next, find the birth year of the person (example: 55" for 1955) and read directly across the tape to see how old that person will be sometime this year.

Of course you can move the current year forwards and backwards as much you want.
