State forestry uses a linked statewide VHF system with UHF vehicular repeaters. They use UHF portables on fireground and for the vehicular repeaters.

We do have a UHF radio system that we use to talk with local fire dept's. Our primary comm's are VHF. We use the VHF fire mutual aid frequency and VHF simplex for fireground ops. We will be installing 800mhz equipment soon.
