• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Staff reports

Two people were seriously injured north of Johnstown when the male driver lost control of the motorcycle they were riding.

The man was driving a Honda CBR 600 motorcycle north on Weld County Road 17 around 9:25 p.m. Sunday when he was coming around the curve just past Weld 50. He lost control and clipped a sign marking the curve and went off the right side of the road.

The passenger, a female, apparently had her foot cut off by the sign, said Rich Armstrong with the Colorado State Patrol. The man was taken by Air Life to North Colorado Medical Center, where he was in critical condition. The woman's condition was not known.

Their identities were not available Sunday evening. The state patrol is investigating the crash, and alcohol may be a factor. Armstrong said it didn't look like either one was wearing a helmet.
