Double discone mount?

Hello, Can anyone tell me if it is ok to mount a double discone antenna above a metal roof? I received a Uniden BCT15x for xmas and can best be described as an eager rookie. No part of the antenna or mount will actually touch the roof; a cinder block chimney will support the mast and the antenna would reside about 6 ft. above the apex of the roof. Thanks for any help.

I think that 6 feet above the apex would not cause any problems with a vertical antenna.
