Douglas Co South Simulcast -TG 1786 SMF (AVD) Dispatch

This evening I noticed I'm no longer picking up the AVD dispatch on TG 1786 on this site. Nor am I hearing any ops channels.

Im monitoring the Douglas south simulcast tower which use to provide their traffic seamlessly on the SDS200 and BCD325P2.

I have the broadcastify feed open for SMF and hear that just fine right now. South Metro Fire Rescue

Is anyone else noticing this issue on the south tower? I haven't made any changes to my radios at all. BTW I hear Douglas county fire dispatch just fine.

Hello. This is not an issue with the site you are moniroting. For a talk group to be heard on a site, there has to be at least one radio assocaited with the site and set to that talk group. It seems the radio that had been associating with the site is no longer doing so and thus the site no longer needs to carry that traffic. I would suggest programming in sites further north to a listen to these talk groups.

Today Im picking up SMF OPS 2 & 3 on the Douglas south simulcast site just fine on my SDS200 and BCD325P2, but not SMF 1 AVD Disp. That makes sense since most of these calls they're running on SMF OPS 2 & 3 are southern district stations closer to the south site. Note: These two radios can't pick up the Douglas north simulcast site from my location. Using my G5 on the Douglas south simulcast site I also don't hear SMF 1 AVD Disp anymore either.

So I tried my G5 tuned to just the Douglas north simulcast site and I am hearing SMF 1 AVD Disp on the north site today. The G5 is my only radio that can pick up the Douglas north simulcast site just on the fringe.

So for those of us further south of Monument hill that's a change for us because it seems that the Douglas south simulcast site no longer carries SMF 1 AVD Disp any longer, just the ops channels.

Sounds like you might benefit from a yagi antenna
