From CSP:

The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a one-vehicle crash resulting in fatality that occurred on westbound C-470 between Quebec and University.

At 7:50 p.m., a Honda Civic was traveling westbound when it drifted into the median and collided head-on with the end of a guardrail. The Honda reentered the westbound lanes, traveling across both lanes and onto the westbound shoulder. The Honda traversed the westbound lanes twice more before coming to rest, blocking the right lane and westbound shoulder.

The vehicle's driver, a 58-year-old female from Littleton, sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. The driver's identity will be released upon confirmation of notification of next-of-kin.

At this time, drug and alcohol use and excessive speed are not considered contributing factors in the crash.

Westbound C-470 has been closed since the time of the crash, and traffic has been diverted at Quebec. The highway will reopen when the investigation is complete. No estimated re-opening time has been determined at this point..
