I looked around the database, but I didn't see any recent changes; however, I'm not hearing Douglas County Fire anymore on their LTR system. A few days ago, I heard dispatch telling all stations to switch to the new repeater (think she said new). Then nothing. I thought they were doing maintenance so I didn't think twice, but it's been a few days and I haven't heard anything. Today I heard them talking to a helicopter on HEAR, so I thought I would tune in to see if they were talking on their LTR. Nothing but silence. I looked around the FCC database, but didn't see any recent license. Did they go digital on someone's system? I'm listening to the wildcard TG on Cobb just to see, but Cobb is so busy, I may miss them. I haven't tried WARRS yet.

Just wanted to post an update. I decided to scan through the entire 152.000 - 152.999 range on my scanner. I found Douglas Fire dispatch talking on 152.7425. Later I noticed the frequent "click" on 152.0825 and 152.5625. Not that I understand Morse, but I also heard similar Morse on all three frequencies. Looks like each frequency is 7.5KHz lower than the original LTR frequencies. Maybe my Pro106 is having issues; however all my other frequencies are spot on, and I hear dispatch on my Ham radio when I plugged in 152.7425. I decided to add another LTR trunked system into my P106 in the same order as the original (minus 7.5KHz). I added the LTR dispatch TG and started listening. It took a while, but I heard traffic on the new LTR TG. Not sure if this is temporary, but thought I would share.

b7spectra: I guess it's possible. I'm new to the narrow banding stuff. I guess I need to read up on it more, and get ready to re-program my P106. I heard a rumor from another HAM that Paulding was about to switch to digital before the Jan 1 mandate. I guess they figured if they need a new system, might as well go digital like everyone else.

Does anyone know if DCFD is planning to move over to either the Douglasville DTRS or the West Georgia DTRS, both of which have repeaters in and around their service area.

Last I heard, Douglas County Fire will remain on the commercial LTR system they are on now because they do not have the money right now to purchase or maintain their own countywide 700/800 MHz P25 System or expand the City of Douglasville DTRS (which is actually part of the Cobb and UASI Systems now) or the WARRS/West Georgia DTRS.

Have any of you plugged in the frequencies for the VHF LTR System and talkgroups used by DCFD? To me the system sounds really good from my home in north central Cobb County.

I had the 152.09000, 152.57000, and 152.75000 put in with the LTR Talkgroups in my P106 and everything was fine until a week or so ago. I created a new LTR group in my P106 moving the three frequencies down 7.5KHz, and I could hear them again with the same Talkgroup IDs. I haven't listened in a day or so to see if the ones posted in the LTR section are back functional. I did set the P106 software to NFM on the original to see if it changed it, but still couldn't hear anything. The ones 7.5KHz lower seem to work, so I'm happy again. ;-).
