I'm willing to bet you will get the same answer you did back on December 29 when you asked the same question. I'm curious as to why you are so anxious to know?

Uh maybe it's because they want to monitor their traffic????

This is a scanner/monitor enthusiast website afterall and going digital is the last thing most scanner users want to have happen to their favorite agency to listen to.

The answer they got back in december was "it's expensive". That hasn't stopped thousands of others from going digital. The question is perfectly reasonable to ask and I for one would also like to know the answer too.

As they say in the TV news business: 'stay tuned'. You just never know when/if the change will happen. Maybe they are happy with their present setup. My guess it if Douglas county does go, it will be on the Cobb system. Then, again, there's always Mototrbo and Nexedge. Too many digital flavors to worry about.

Douglas county couldn't even find money to replace their aging crown vic's with over 250K miles on them, the county is poor.

Maybe that will change, especially since Google is opening a super secret data center. Maybe they can convince Google to buy their county an encrypted phase II 700/800 simulcast 22 site DTRS, after all, those 1970's technology VHF analog radios probably won't work inside that data center when the next "terrorist" attack happens.

yeah right.

Since when does being poor make any difference.
If they can manage to raise sales tax, property tax, close libraries and furlough workers then they can come up up with the money. Remember, this is for "officer safety" and "homeland security". If they stay on analog conventional then the terrorists win.
