Will any special frequencies be in use for the bike races in Downers Grove the 16th and 17th, or just the local DG freqs?

Nope just the local and the PD back up maybe public works, they mostly use Nextel

Well, the races were exciting but the communications (or almost lack thereof) sure wasn't.
Mostly it was FRS radios that were in use for the race teams; a lot of stats being fed to the racers, with a few riders asking where certain competitors were in relation to them. Didn't have my PRO84 with me so I wasn't able to 'signal stalk' what freqs the race officials were using. My wife asked one what freqs they were using and he just looked at her like she just fell out of a hole. Either he had no idea, or he wasn't sharing. Judging from how old he looked (late teens at best) he probably didn't have a clue. He was probably just handed a radio and told to have at it LOL.
Oh well, it was a beautiful weekend for the races even though the communications kinda sucked.
Probably should have gone to the Air & Water show if I wanted exciting radio.
