I am new to this. For a premium member can download the frequency database directly to a scanner via a computer. Will this downloaded frequency include all the trunk tracking frequencies and not having to do anything else to the scanner such as any setting changes. Thanks

Most all trunk systems will download and set up the correct parameters. There are exceptions such as if they were rebanded, but most of these have some guidance on the particular system page on what to change. I would download with the expectation that you would not need to do anything else. If a system does not seem to work, then you can go to the system page and see what might be needed, or better yet, go to the state forum and ask for help. I would suggest that you select all the TGID's to download with the system, but put your scanner in the IDsearch mode. This will allow you to hear any traffic, even if the TGID is not in the database. Later, you can switch to IDscan mode which will only pick up those TGID's that you downloaded and did not lock out.

Press Func then Scan/Srch to change from 'ID Scan' to 'ID Search' while scanning a trunking site in Scan Mode.

Let's be clear here; you're not downloading the entire database, but you do have the ability to select anything from the database to be downloaded to your particular app, whatever it is.

As for settings - for the most part, the web service does not adjust any settings. That's up to the user - and rightly, since every manufacturer utilizes different settings for different scanners. However, many apps will download custom table entries (for example, for rebanded trunked systems, which have a particular flag the app can query).

best regards..Mike

Mike,
Correct, I am not downloading the entire database. I only need couple of cities that I am interested in listening to, just to get a sense about my surrounding areas. Thank you for your input.
